Bruce Parry first endeared himself to viewers with his courage and good humour when living with indigenous peoples in Tribe among cannibals, hunters and shamans, from scorched desert to frosty steppe. He followed this up with an epic journey tracing the route of the Amazon River from its source to the sea. At the frontline in a major environmental struggle, the frightening truths he learned from the people he met on his way served as a timely reminder that the Amazons fate touches us all.<br /><br />

In 2010, over the course of one bright Arctic summer, Bruce has immersed himself in the pattern of existence for the people living in the Far North. From the Inuit of Greenland to Alaskan whalers and treasure-hunters, Canadian oil-men and scientists on Svalbard, and bands of reindeer herders in the remote valleys of Siberia and the hills of northern Norway, Bruce has encountered first-hand the threats to culture, landscape and wildlife that are being felt there.</div>

<div id="bio_2">BRUCE PARRY is a former Royal Marine officer and physical training instructor. He left to become an expedition leader and then worked in the music industry. He now combines a passion for travel and his insatiable curiosity in his award-winning documentaries, such as the hugely successful Tribe series. His sincere commitment to indigenous peoples has drawn him wide support across the world. In 2009 he followed the Amazon from source to sea travelling over 6,000 kilometres by foot, light aircraft and boat and his efforts won him a BAFTA.
